MacHeist 2010 nanoBundle is now live….

The timer on the MacHeist website hit zero tonight at 7PM EST, and though the initial launch was a bit delayed due to heavy site traffic, the new nanoBundle is now live.

Listed for sale as part of the new bundle are the following Mac applications:

The first 6 are available now, and Tales of Monkey Island will be unlocked once 50,000 bundles are sold.

UPDATE: Though the MacHeist site does not specifically say it, Rapidweaver is also locked. The icon is slightly transparent just like Tales of Monkey Island, but only the latter has a text blurb with details.

According to MacHeist, the total value of the entire lineup is $260, for instance RapidWeaver alone retails for $79. The current bundle will be available for 7 days, afterward the software will need to be purchased from the individual developers for full retail price.

25% of the revenue generated by this bundle will go to the charity of your choice:

  • Action against hunger
  • AIDS Research Alliance
  • Save the Children
  • Direct Relief International
  • Humane Society International
  • Clinton Bush Haiti Fund
  • The Nature Conservancy
  • Alliance for Climate Protection
  • Save Darfur
  • Prevent Cancer Foundation
  • World Wildlife Fund

It's correct that they don't “explicitly tell you” that RapidWeaver hasn't been unlocked. It's not at all clear, especially next to the “Monkey Island” logo, which *does* state that explicitly. I find it deceptive. I wrote back to MacHeist, with whom I've done business before. To their credit, they answered quickly; to their debit, the answer was most unsatisfying. Essentially, they said, “Be patient, all will probably be well, and in the meantime you can use the demo.” Phooey. I already had the demo. I found the answer patronizing and unresponsive. In the past they've been clear about what wasn't yet unlocked, and what the sales threshold would be to unlock it. If RW doesn't make it into the mix, I'll be requesting a refund (nothing else downloaded at this point) and suggesting strongly that they be more “explicit” about what you know you're getting.
