In addition to my previous post, the 10.5.7 update seems to be at the root of my computer constantly believing that my USB removable hard drive has been inappropriately disconnected. I do not get the problem with the same disk on another computer and it worked fine before the update. What an update!

Any suggestions would be amazing!

I have recently updated to Mac OS X 10.5.7 Juno and to my dismay have lost all capacity to connect to the internet through any wireless base station. I can still detect Aiport base stations and other wireless base stations, but once connected to the base station I am still not connected to internet. I have also lost the ability to edit the settings of Airport base stations. I did not change any settings and my connections worked fine before the update. The Airport base station still works for my computer that I luckily did not upgrade.
I have an older 1.5 GHz PowerPc G4 (I hope this is not Apple's dishonest means of forcing users to upgrade their computer!)

If anyone has a suggestions for a remedy, I am all ears

After installing both the solo and combo version of 10.5.7 in my 15" MacBook Pro, the sleep mode went haywire. The first time you close the lid the computer goes to sleep and the wake-up is fine. However, the second time results in a total system freeze. It doesn't seem to matter what i do to correct it - restarts, running utilities. I even did two complete archive and installs and the problem is the same. The Apple care folks deny that the update is at fault, and walked me through a number of system fixes before they recommended the system re-install. I may be forced to go back to 10.5.6. Any suggestions?

We recently installed the DISQUS plugin for our Wordpress site engine as a means of improving the comments functionality; apparently rather than integrating "out of the box" with the existing comments, the new plugin replaced them. However they're still part of our database, and with a little more work, it should be relatively easy to import them into the DISQUS system.

In the long run, this is a considerably improved way of handling comments (and integrates all sorts of good stuff like social networking -- you can tweet your comments, have a single login/identity across all sites which support DISQUS, etc etc)....so any hassles in transition ought to be well worth it.

Sorry for the snafu; with some work and a little luck over the next couple of days we hope to have things more seamless in terms of backdated entries made with the standard Wordpress commenting system.

I installed the 10.5.7 update right away. My system hung on the reboot. I gave it 20 minutes before shutting down the power and restarting. After a longer boot up the desktop finally loaded. About this Mac show version 10.5.7. No problems since ay this point.

The Safari 4 Beta update was flawless.

I won't update just yet. Mac OS X 10.5.6 has fucked upp my file system 5 times, since mid February. The first time I bought a brand new disk, and installed a clean Mac OS X. I just updated to 10.5.6, and transfered all of my files. My PowerMac G5 has crashed 4 times since then.

If 10.5.7 doesn't fix this, I'll be leaving the Mac platform. I'm sick and tired of Leopard now. I I wanted to reinstall the OS 10 times a year, then I would have bought a Windows PC.

Thanks Apple! :-(
