Given Australia's relatively strong dollar and economy, maybe Apple is toying with making a big grab for market share here. Australia got a special mention in Apple's recent strong earnings report, so most be a stand out market.

Certainly I am astounded by how many unexpected people around me are suddenly buying iMacs.

I am almost left with no-one to argue with, except my sister-in-law who seems to have promised her first born to Microsoft.

Look to the left of \649.00\ under the Mac mini. You can still see a piece of the comma from \1,649.00\ under the MacBook!

surely the use of regular desktop processors as rumoured elsewhere would help reduce prices?

If you look carefully at the prices in the image you will see it is a fake. The decimal dot of the “new” prices is different, and it seems there was something erased in the mini price
