The kindle could be of greater importance once people realize that these natural resources need to be conserved and that all reading materials should be digitized. I do not think the Kindle will work, primarily because you can have a portable, lightweight computer in combination to the reading component. If Amazon sold its Kindle at prices such as $50. Not only do I not have to look at a pair of cable boxes (one for my hd digital tv, and one for my DVR), but at $.75 each per month (yup - that's 75 cents each),my cable cards are cheaper, too. I suppose I wouldn't need one for the DVR if I just rented the one from Time Warner, but that would be MORE money per month, so I own both of my DVRs (a Sony digital/high def and a Panasonic analog).
